My story began approximately 5 years ago. An uncle who I had visited over 50 years was a wonderful story teller. We were discussing family stories as we often did, out of the blue, he said your great grandma could have come from Ireland, she lived on the Irish back he stated. I was inspired to find out more. I did make some enquires, the only living relatives were my mum and her sister, they knew nothing, that was that, until my mum's death last year. I was desperately saddened to the extemes and I had a breakdown; I did't attend her funeral. We were't really close untll her seventies then we spent more time together for about five years. For her 75th birthday I sang kay sara sara to her, my favorite song she sang when I was a kid. I pulled myself together with the help of my wonderful husband, my eldest daughter, my fantastic granddaughter, and a closer presence of my mum. It also inspired me to start our family tree. I contacted my aunty and asked for the date her grandma died, she gave me the date, I made an appointment to visit the registrar were they register the cemetry details. She was buried with her mum dad and daughter, it was so excitng to get so much imformation in such a short time. I now know that she was born in Lancashire. Her mum was born in Ireland, her dad was born in Wales, but I suspect and hope his parents came from Ireland. Can't wait to find out more.
