(L-R): Ernst Simmerling, Rudolf Rocker, Wuppler, Lazar Sabelinsky, and Loefler, with (seated) Milly Witkop, the common-law wife of Rocker, and Milly Sabel, partner of Sabelinsky. Rudolf Rocker (1873 - 1958) was German-born and settled in the East End of London in 1895, and joined the Jewish anarchist movement he found there. Although he was a Gentile, he learned Yiddish and became editor of the Yiddish communist-anarchist weekly 'Der Arbeiter Fraint' (The Workers Friend), and wrote countless speeches for their meetings. He was one of the organisers of the Tailors' Strike of 1912 which sought to end the sweating system of labour.
