A woman street vendor in a photograph taken between 1899 and 1910 in Trinidad. She holds a tray of jackfruit. Jackfruit are melon-shaped starchy fruit, cooked as a vegetable when unripe, and eaten as a fruit when ripe. The seeds can be roasted.
