Floella Benjamin opening the new Wandsworth Museum, in London in 1986. Floella Benjamin was born in Trinidad in the 1950s and emigrated with her family to the UK in the early 1960s. She became well-known as a very successful presenter on children's television in the 1980s and was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2000 for services to broadcasting.
