Catalogue Reference:(JML) 1998.34.12

A baby's dress, made in the 1930s of cream-coloured silk with gold embroidery, together with a matching bonnet. This was made by girls from the Jewish community in Baghdad, Iraq at the Laura Kadoorie Girls' School. This dress is an example of the importance traditionally placed upon embroidery skills for girls within the Jewish community there.
