Extract from an interview with Emanuel Litvinoff describing how he was expelled from his branch of the Young Communist League. The background to the problem was over a girl although the excuse given was Trotskyism - a theory of communism put forward by Leon Trotsky which became a byword for treachery under Joseph Stalin. Emanuel discovered that people were being shot for this.
