A postcard-format photograph from the collection of the Kandler family who came to England from Latvia in the 1880s. The picture shows a group of men and boys standing outside a low-roofed building in winter. In the foreground are piles of timber and to the left what is probably a sawhorse for positioning wood when sawing it to length.
