A daily editorial conference at The Gleaner's newspaper offices in Kingston, Jamaica is captured in this 1955 photograph, presided over by the editor (on the left), Mr Sealy. The Gleaner was founded in 1834 and in the 1950s its editorials were used for the teaching of English in schools.
