St John's Church

Catalogue Reference:(LMA) SC/PHL/02/1157/321

This neat row of terraced houses in Duncan Terrace, just north of the City Road in London, is interrupted by the front of St John's Roman Catholic Church. The Church was opened in 1843 to serve the needs of the large Irish population which had settled in the area since the 18th century. The photograph was taken in 1957 and just one lone motor vehicle is visible in the frame.
