A class of young boys in a village school in India in 1944 which taught handicrafts including weaving and basketwork - vital, practical skills to help boys make a living. Even though the classroom is simple with no desks, the principle of the teacher with a blackboard in front of rows of children is the same as in more industrialised parts of the world.
