A decorative wooden plate presented to Israel Zangwill in commemoration of his vigorous treatment of a heckler at a public meeting in the Kingsway Hall in London in 1915 who had called Zangwill an 'alien Jew'. The plate was commissioned by Morris Myer, editor of one of the main Anglo-Yiddish newspapers, and made by Lazar Berson. The design of the plate reflects Berson's interest in Jewish decorative art based on religious symbols.
