In addition to running his own hotel, Sam Stern provided outside catering at other hotels for Jewish functions. This 1920s photograph shows his restaurant staff ready and waiting for the guests of a wedding reception. All the food and wine provided would have been kosher, that is prepared according to the Jewish dietary laws.
