Catalogue Reference:(PRO) RAIL 910/1

The front cover of the British Railways ferry timetable for sailings between Ireland and Britain in 1955. The British & Irish Steam Packet Company, mentioned on the cover, had incorporated the St George Steam Packet Company in 1936. This had been founded in Liverpool in 1821 with two ships serving Liverpool, Dublin and Bristol.
