Many of the families owning large There is no systematic guide, but a reasonably comprehensive overview up to 1975 can be found in Richard Hayes' Manuscript Sources for the Study of Irish Civilisation and its supplements, copies of which can be found in the Irish National Library and National Archives.
The only other guide is Brian Donovan's and David Edward's British Sources for Irish History 1485-1641: A Guide to Manuscripts in Local, Regional and Specialised Repositories in England, Scotland and Wales (Dublin IMC, 1998). The search page of the UK Archives Network may also be useful. See Read about the records of the Clanrickarde estate in the Migration Histories Gallery.
