* Naval Office Returns 
These are customs returns taken at colonial ports. They records by date the names of incoming and outgoing ships, the names of the master and the owner, port of registry, tonnage, number of crew, type of goods carried, and the previous and next ports.

These contain little for genealogists in that with the exception of the master and owner no other names are given. However, they can give clues on possible ships someone arrived on if the approximate date of arrival is known; or the date of arrival if the ship is known.
