The National Archives only holds passenger lists for ships that departed from, or arrived at, UK ports. Many West Indians migrated to other countries especially in the Americas. Passenger lists may survive in the country of departure and the country of arrival. For example, passenger lists to the USA from 1820 are held by:

Between 1892 and 1924 some 22 million passengers and ships' crews arrived at Ellis Island and the Port of New York, many thousand of whom were West Indians.
