Passenger lists for migrants going to the West Indies or leaving the West Indies may survive in the countries of departure or arrival. For the Caribbean these may be with the immigration or customs departments or may have been deposited with the national archives.

For the UK most passenger lists are at the National Archives, unfortunately very few survive before 1890 - the British government did not register people emigrating from the UK, arriving in the Caribbean or arriving in the UK.
