In 1888 Symon married Annie Blatt, a young woman who had also been born in Kovno. This was probably no coincidence, since many Jewish immigrants settled near *landsleit, people from the same area or village.

The marriage took place at the Hambro Synagogue in Fenchurch Street in the City of London on 25 July 1888. 'The Hambro', as it was known, had been founded by German *Ashkenazi Jews in 1707, and was one of the earliest synagogues in London. Its name derives from Hamburg, where many of its congregation probably came from. It moved to new premises in Adler Street, Whitechapel in 1899, but eventually closed in 1936.

The civil marriage certificate gives the newly married couple's address as 31 Spelman Street, in the heart of Spitalfields. This was at the heart of the 'Jewish ghetto' and most of Spelman Street was occupied by Jewish families from Poland or Russia, like the Freemans.
