Hull City Archives (HCA)

Hull City Archives is part of Kingston upon Hull City Council. The City Archives preserves and makes accessible the historical records of the Council and its predecessor bodies from 1299 to the present day, together with the records of other local organisations, businesses, families and individuals.

As one of the principal ports in the United Kingdom, Hull was the point of entry for many immigrants to this country, as well as many others who subsequently travelled on to the United States, Canada and South Africa. Evidence of this transmigration appears in our records.

Included in the Moving Here catalogue are alien registration certificates.
