Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives (THLA)

The Local History Library contains a very large and growing collection of books, pamphlets, newspaper cuttings, printed ephemera, maps, pictures and audio-visual material which provide extensive coverage of all aspects of the recorded history of Tower Hamlets.

The Archives contain extensive holdings of local authority records, some of which date from the 16th century (for on-line catalogues of this material visit www.a2a.org.ukexternal link - opens in a new window), together with records of many local institutions, including some places of worship, schools, local societies, businesses and family papers.

Included in the Moving Here catalogue are letters and reports of Jewish Girls clubs.
